@kirschner If institutions like @fsfe are unclear about the term, how we expect people to understand the difference? The issue is not the 2% engaging in this discussion. The problem is to not distinguish our movement from the 1%[i]. CEO's, like Musk[ii] and Zuckerberg[iii] have took over the term, because they took advantage of the ambiguity of the term #opensource We need to clearly differentiate from big tech and retaliate with #freesoftware ! @lxo@amszmidt@fsfe@fsf@osi
The #FreeSoftware movement is powerful because of everyday people like you who use and create free software, and support #UserFreedom in ways big and small. We're glad to share this community with you: https://u.fsf.org/457

@kirschner I don't think that we must confuse #FreeSoftware with #OpenSource [1] We all agree with @fsf about Llama not being free, but we must wait for a statement from @osi to claim that it is not OpenSource...
56% of you really know your #freesoftware terminology history! The term "free software" is indeed an 80's baby. Thanks for playing and stay tuned for today's #ilovefs trivia question!

This time around I donated to GIMP, an image editing tool I've used since high school. It's a fantastic piece of software, and even though I don't work in design or photography, I've used it more times than I can count—converting and resizing images, creating visual aids, making memes, it does everything.
Big shoutout to @GIMP for being my go-to for well over a decade.
