As long as the code behind "smart" home devices is proprietary, these companies are free to spy on us as much as they like. Help us fight back: tell your friends about free software and urge them to join the FSF! Support #FreeSoftware. https://fsf.org

Linux-libre keeps rolling out with 6.10.8-gnu, along with 6.6.49-gnu, 6.1.108-gnu, and more! These kernels are scrubbed clean, giving you the tools to have full control over your computing. Freedom soars with every new release, one clean kernel at a time! Your freedom matters, and these releases reflect that. Stay free, and keep pushing for software that respects your rights! https://www.fsfla.org/ikiwiki/selibre/linux-libre/#FreeSoftware#SoftwareFreedom#GNU#FSF#Linux#LinuxLibre

Question: I expect if I wrote free software, I wouldn't want it to be used by police, but isn't it in the interest of the public and a democracy that police and military operations use free (libre, open source) software, so that at least the computing tools involved in that policing can be known and understood by the public, who are (supposedly) served by such operations? I guess that would require they ONLY use FOSS...
Nice that you already came across these projects. Your Flames music video looks great. I like the images flowing into one another and the music is perfect for a late and lazy Saturday morning. 🥴
I can totally feel you. I'm no video artist either and I did the #Influenca musicvideo rather to explore current possibilities of video making with #FreeSoftware. And before that I was also having a hard time looking for somebody else interested in this realm.
BTW: If you are open to a community of music people that happen to use #FLOSS and #Linux :linux: be welcome at https://sonoj.org 🎶
Unfortunately, your situation of not being able to access your compositions after #Finale shut down is a typical example of the downsides when you depend on #proprietary formats and #NonFreeSoftware as a #musician. :thinking_rms:
I had a hard time migrating from #GuitarPro to #TuxGuitar and I feel like I must move on to MuseScore, though its capabilities for tabs is limited (or different) in the way I am using it at the moment. However, you are can explore new methodologies in the process of learning a new tool. 🙃
And in my opinion you will always win when you choose #FreeSoftware and #OpenStandards for your projects. At least somebody is able to pick it up and proceed where you have stopped working or convert it into current formats. :hacker:
