The hardest part of writing/composing/painting is getting started, so I just go ahead and create crap that I can throw away if I need to. (p. 36) #AbortiveAttempts
We often do not know—once we choose a beginning—what shape our project will take. Often it is beneficial to walk away from it or set it aside to that all its ideas have time to spread and grow, to take shape. #TaskAvoidance#Lichtenbergianism#postcardquotes
Do not concern yourself with time. Either it is time to work, or it isn't. Either you have time to make the thing that is not, or you don't. #TaskAvoidance#Lichtenbergianism#postcardquotes
The Lyles Theory of Process Development states that it takes three cycles to get any process right. In other words, you have to start and end a process at least twice before you can say you have a grip on it. (p. 58) #SuccessiveApproximation
I had some not-very-small, tedious tasks to perform today, but I couldn't get to work because the feeds today were just too hysterical to not pay attention to. #TrumpDeservesEveryBitOfIt
My wife came home from an appt today and related her convo with a man there. When he asked if she had watched the debate, she was fearful, but he opened up that now he doesn't know how he's going to vote — "I had it really good when Trump was president, but he just isn't up to it any more." I think that's a great wedge to use to open some brains: "Yes, you enjoyed his first term, but he is clearly decaying." #TrumpIsDecaying
@thisven MuseScored opened the piano waltz .xml file just fine (and the piece sounds great); it crashes when asked to open the orchestral/choral piece. Will keep trying this afternoon.
