@hider@flavigula I've been in a household with such electric stove for 15 years. for most of the time it's been 4 of us, including two boys for which we had to cook multiple times per day.
I think it's not less useful than any other. it's very easy to clean.
we have no cat, buy yeah there's a simple lock function.
why we need to pour even more effort in support of diy, self-hosted degrowth cooperative crowd-funded networks and media powered by open source and transparent code, is the fact that there is no more liberalism and capitalism is dead, replaced by technofeudal lords using central planning economic system that Stalin would be extremely happy to have, who are surveilling everyone, taking rent, and being a new form dictatorship over its vazals and serfs.
everyone should have an account on (closed silo) soundcloud in order to seek within tracks and comment
or
no need to have an account to track-seek on a peertube, but if you have an account anywhere on fediverse (social media or peertube), you can comment too...
we should piggyback the #BandCampFriday hashtag (and actual day) with #FairTradeMusicFriday where people would seek bandcamps as well as artists' own boutique homepages and shops where artists get money directly if you buy music there.
if bc really gets enshittified all other alternatives will become even more important - like FairCamp, jam.coop, patreons (where you can now sell digital items in a shop)... so we should ride the monthly tags for those alternatives.
@rasmusfleischer tldr.nettime.org does not suspend bae.st? that's not a very safe community then. you should call out your mods/admins to implement at least a very basic fedinuke list of the worst of the worst on the fedi.
yes, succesfully created a membership subscription with different monthly and yearly prices. in stripe dashboard you can see active subscriptions and ... send them an 'members only' email.
that means you can bypass all other platforms, work directly with the payment processor (Stripe) and run your own membership program with your static website, embede buttons and email.
not fancy. basic. but works.
i didn't imagine you can get so low-level without coding.
shitlords! i'm discovering a lot can be done without any coding on stripe site itself or with embeds: buttons and forms to sell memberships, subscriptions, and even digital downloads.
there's a bit of annoying thing right now with mastodon, where somebody follows you and when you look at whatever your instance sees of the profile of that person - there's nothing - no avatar, no header image, no bio, no posts. when looking at "original page" you see there are all those things. why doesn't your instance pull those things when someone actually follows you?
@ajroach42@djsundog i must thank you for starting this! I've been thinking dreaming pushing for this idea since the sell of bc to Epic. I'm rooting for it and all. I very much hope you will manage to establish a healthy and open dev team/community that will not go down the classic flossbro road of misogyny and social insensitivity.
@pettter@ajroach42@rockario there's no other music marketplace that shows off the grid of supporters below the album as far as i know. I think these types of connection are crucial.
@pettter@ajroach42@rockario just a few days ago I found out that Gumroad is quite featureful including "we'll take care of everything regarding taxes and payments"
also, following progress on comradery.co I ve seen they took a lot of time and effort to figure out taxes. and Patreon was once too heavily involved in solving that problem. so probably tiny floss project will somehow need to outsource that processing in some way?
