The new #Fedilab app update for Mastodon added several new looks recently.

The #Pride theme looks great!! Definitely going to be rocking it on my phone.

The last release of #Fedilab 3.24.1 was the 500th 🎉

If you want to change the app icon on your device. You have to go in "Settings > Interface".
At the bottom you will be able to select a new one.

#Fedilab 3.24.1 has been published:

Added:
- Three new app icons (Pride, Pink and Pirate)
- Keep position with remote conversations

Fixed:
- Markdown: stop parsing tags and support strike text
- Cursor more visible when composing
- Fix custom instance max char length not working
- Tabs in profiles
- Fix not clickable tags for some languages
- Bug with accounts having huge amount of followers
- Crash with several gif in the same message
- Poll max chars
- Some crashes

We talk about markdown, but did you know that #Fedilab implemented features before they were officially supported by #Mastodon? Especially thanks to your suggestions.

So why not markdown? But the original text should be kept (Pleroma and other instances that support Markdown transform it), this action doesn't allow Fedilab to bring the compatibility. It only gets transformed messages from servers.

Dear #Fedilab (@apps), until now I have been recommending your #Android app, because it displays threads as what they are, i.e., trees.
But I found out (the "hard way", so to say) that you do #markdown formatting and HTML removal, neither of which are done by the standard #Mastodon web UI or the Mastodon Android app.
IMO, this is simply not right. Not even if you made it optional. A post/toot should not be seen differently depending on where you see it. This is not an enhancement, it's a mistake

When the markdown feature is turned on, messages having non Latin chars can have issues with clickable elements.
We fixed it today and it will be available in the next release. #Fedilab

Il y a une régression de #Fedilab en version 3.24.0.
Ce problème avait en théorie été résolu en 3.22.2.
J'ai toujours le problème des sondages bloqués à 25 caractères (au lieu de 50)...

@apps When using #Fedilab on Android, I have issues with the #UI representation of #threads. Every time I tap a toot, which is an answer (to an answer (to an answer …)) to an original toot, it opens the thread view for the original toot with all answers to that toot and I have to scroll and find the toot I tapped. I would expect to see the toot I tapped, above its ancestors and below the answers to this toot (like in tusky or X-🐦). Is there a setting to change this? Am I doing something wrong?

Today, we exchanged with #Mitra, so #Fedilab can support this new software.

Thanks for asking here! It seems like your official matrix support room is kind of dead for a while, so I'll post here.

We're all still experiencing this problem when trying to create or login to new accounts and the issue is about six months old in the bug tracker here:

A few of us have tried with the past several versions and I'm currently running the latest (version 3.24.0).

Can we get a clearer marker that something is a video?
Colored frame, word label or whatever (as long as it's outside the video frame and at least part of it doesn't overlap the video).

The last #Fedilab release fixes many old annoying bugs.
We put a lot of work into it, but we will wait for your feedback to be sure it matches your expectations.

In the next release, we will work on composing threads.

We have to fix:

- Text selection and copy/paste when adding replies. The long press for opening the contextual menu is broken when threading.

- Allow to automatically split a long text through a copy/paste into several messages ready to be posted.
