@mika83ac#AndStatus app has its unique features that make it a good choice for some users. And people always need an alternative, even if it is "very unpopular" for others ;-)
@isaakubus So I understand that you installed different keyboard apps at your phone, and in all apps there was no way to make a linebreak. If so this means that incompatibility is with your phone firmware and/or Android version. In order for me to fix the problem I need to be able to reproduce it. But so far I don't have a device with this problem.
@z428 Frankly I personally read social networks rarely, and the #AndStatus app helps me keep a track of what's unread and look at that stuff and react at any place, even when there is no good connection. But what I value even more is a feeling that I really "own my data" :-) - I keep my conversations in the app for more than ten years already. I don't know why :-) @petrescatraian@volkris
@z428 Completely true. Friendica specific features seem to be ignored by all the apps I've encountered, while the web front is just fantastic - even on mobile. The only app I see trying to respect the feature choice is #Friendiqa but it's development is a bit slow.
and dealing with apps can be a drain to ones time even greater than different Fediverse accounts in itself
Indeed it is. There are little reasons for using apps for online services that work well enough inside a web browser. We've just gotten used to corporations pushing us towards their walled gardens.
@dancingtreefrog Got you how. In order to investigate such cases #AndStatus logs are needed: they will allow to tell, why the app still thinks that the Note (Activity) was not sent. But probably a network problem occured during sending, and the app didn't get confirmation from a server about successful Note creation on a server. I thought that this should be a Server's responsibility to deduplicate/resolve such cases, and e.g. seeing that AndStatus client sends the same Note...
@isaakubus You could also try some older version of #AndStatus As you may see in the discussion that I linked to some years ago AndStatus had different implementation for line break option... Please follow up in GitHub issues
@isaakubus This means that incompatibility is with your device firmware. What's its model and Android version? BTW I use Pixel 6 now - line break works.
@isaakubus The problem that you encounter is specific to a keyboard app that you use and/or to the Android version. What are they so I could try to reproduce the behavior?
