David W. Jones (dancingtreefrog@mastodon.social)'s status on Sunday, 06-Aug-2023 14:38:29 JST David W. Jones @AndStatus No, *you* didn't post the same link twice. *I* posted the link a couple of days ago using the AndStatus Android app. That post showed up on Mastodon.
Then, the next time I opened AndStatus on Android, the original link was sitting there, unsent, in what looked like a new post.
This has happened a couple of times. It's like the app forgets it posted the item.
Simply deleting the link in the post just leaves me with an empty post that never goes away.
Maybe a bug in the app. Oh, well! -

In order to investigate such cases #AndStatus logs are needed: they will allow to tell, why the app still thinks that the Note (Activity) was not sent.
But probably a network problem occured during sending, and the app didn't get confirmation from a server about successful Note creation on a server.
I thought that this should be a Server's responsibility to deduplicate/resolve such cases, and e.g. seeing that AndStatus client sends the same Note... -
