Just filed a UI bug for @apps as this behaviour bugged me so often now (see screen record):

When you hit reply, the cursor jumps a couple of milliseconds later to a newline.

If I'd be more into android coding, I'd try to search the bug.. But currently this is the least I can do right now.

#Tusky is a classic app, available also on F-Droid. There exists more members... #Pachli was started based on Tusky 23. And there are #Husky (adding #Pleroma specific stuff) and #Yuito.

Regarding #Mastodon for #Android, there exist #Megalodon and #Moshidon (as forks or family members).

And then of course #Fedilab...

... and some more apps for #Android.

Are there people who follow their #Pixelfed account with a #Mastodon client? I've been doing that for a while now, but lately my timeline is not refreshed anymore. I've tried several clients. They do refresh the notifications, though. I don't like the Pixelfed client very much, but Android clients #Tusky and #Fedilab don't work on Pixelfed anymore.

We will create a fundraise to improve our UX/UI.
What are your advice for doing that (dedicated platforms with a good follow to people contributing)? Do you know UX/UI designers that could be interested to work with us on that improvement? Thank you for sharing.

@feditips PeerTube uploads? 👏️ Looks like I will be trying #Fedilab again soon, as now I have #PeerTube ( @daltux_ ) and #Pixelfed ( @daltux@metapixl.com ) besides this #Mastodon. I tested it before, but it was right after having created my first Mastodon account.

You can use it with Mastodon accounts, PeerTube accounts, Pixelfed accounts and many other types of Fediverse account.

It's got a really nice array of options if you dig down into the settings menus, it does a lot of things that the official apps don't do. I've tried to summarise the good stuff in the review.

@blue_led @apps This was an issue in earlier versions but I have not seen it lately. The app seems to remember my position very well and the timeline hardly moves at all when automatically fetching new messages. This is maybe the single best feature of #fedilab 🙂

@neutronwrangler @apps Exactly! There were actually a couple of Twitter apps that had this feature. I used Plume for years and got used to reading in the natural direction.

The reverse order we have now is especially irritating when reading replies, replies to replies and threads.

Btw, the thread view in #fedilab should be done over, it is not functional.

If we have to improve the UI for messages, what would you expect?

PS: there are already some customizations (remove left margin, display counters, change colors). #Fedilab

I'm really not a big fan of #fedilab long hold = action features...

Extra-features (disabled by default) is somewhat confusing in #Fedilab.
This option allows to enable features that #Mastodon doesn't support (quotes, reactions, submit messages in a specific format, etc.)
But softwares like #Pleroma, #Akkoma, #GlitchSocial, #FireFish don't support (currently) same features.

We plan to use #NodeInfo to automatically enable features depending on the user's instance (ie: software).

@apps Mute Conversation is working intermittently for me in FediLab. When I tap Mute Conversation, the posts don't disappear. When I close the app and reopen it they do, but then new replies to the same thread appear.

I'm using FediLab 3.24.1, from @fdroidorg, on an OS based on Android 11 (OxygenOS 11.1.2.2).

Anyone else having the same issue, or is it maybe some use error on my part?

Die offizielle #Pixelfed #App für #Android scheint nur ein Browser zu sein, denn wenn man keinen Internetzugang hat (airplane mode), bekommt man beim Start der App nur ein "Lets start", als ob man nicht eingeloggt wäre.

Da nutze ich dann doch lieber #Fedilab dafür. Ist zwar nicht so hübsch, dafür kann man Bilder direkt an die App teilen.
