Colonels are willing to be shot down over Iran and meet certain death so I could see a situation develop where after a strike with a lot of losses any sorties would be dialed back so that only low risk and long rang, (therefore low payload) pin-prick strikes will be the only ones flown, drastically cutting their effectiveness.
