While I think Job offers the best solid insight into the basic underlying reality, I’d be remiss to dismiss everything else in the “genre” as bullshit. It’s that whole Ancestral Inheritance thing. The Lord saw fit to put such “Easter Eggs” all over the pre-Christian world - pointing to Him of course. They should indeed be dispensed with in instances where it’s causing problems, I can concede that.
