I mean, if I have a piece of beef, I can bake it, broil it, fry it, braise it, chop it up and make a stew. This does not make a practical difference to the cow, though. If the cow decides it doesn't want to do this or that, it gets herded: its thoughts on autonomy don't make a huge difference to a cattle rancher, and it's managed rather than respected.

People insist it's different to be shoved into a black van by guys with hammer and sickle armbands or into a cattle car by guys with swastika armbands and I don't think it's a huge difference.
