Apparently, I accidentally made an account at hachyderm.io lol. I am looking to move instances soon, mastodon.world is great but I'd like a local feed that I can enjoy. So am eyeing writers.exchange or hachyderm.io (as a tech writer I straddle both worlds) Anyone on these instances? How is it like?
@liztai on #hachyderm here. The server is great! A team that really cares looks after it and the communication from @nova and others is flawless :) lots of nice people here as well.
@liztai A bit biased :blobfoxcomputerowonotice: , but @nova the admin here on #hachyderm has some unfortunate knowledge of where social networks go wrong, and she uses that to her advantage to get ahead of problems. Also, check out the `/about` route for any instance you want to join. If they don't have rules stated, then it might be kind of spineless or indeterminate enforcement.
@numbertheory@nova that sounds good - I am concerned about joining new instances for that reason; that it may run into inevitable problems. Namely, moderation and technical ones
From what I've seen and read so far I would say the stand out instances I've encountered for technical competence and moderation skill are hachyderm.io and InfoSec.exchange
It's very apparent that @nova and @jerry are doing amazing jobs and both disserve much thanks from their communities and the wider Fediverse ??
