@Humpleupagus @Deplorable_Degenerate @El_Jefe not really, generally if you’re the sort of person who’s got a problem with dietary folic acid you’re one of the few who drew a very bad specific genetic hand and are aware of that fact, and your life sucks because there’s LOTS of shit you can’t eat, “tortillas” being pretty far down the list
iodine is almost the stupidest conceivable hill to die on (I’m sure there are those that are going to, I can feel their breathing quickening even now), because iodine deficiency is the most prevalent cause of acquired IQ deficiency known to Man and one of the most easily treatable (eat seaweed or use iodized salt, all lunatics out there miss me with “but it’s not this specific natural FORM of iodine” nigger it’s fucking iodine your body can use it just fine, you can paint a stripe of tincture on your skin and get the same result, I am on an ascended level of paranoia and I am telling you there are far worse things to worry about in the food supply that you know nothing of)
fluoride is a good hill to die on, but it too is probably not as bad for you as people make it out to be; all kinds of shit has natural fluoride in it (tea, for one thing), its chief problem seems to be that it fucks with (wait for it) iodine metabolism; the biggest problem with “fluoride anything” seems to be organically-bound fluorides, those Forever Chemicals are nasty pieces of work because they are functionally immune to pretty much every conceivable degradation process in vivo that doesn’t involve being hurled into an active volcano and dissolved into an acidic lava bath at 2200°F
all in all people tend to be very worried about the wrong things; avoid zogchow and make most of your food yourself using recognizable organic ingredients and long-lived US or Euro-made cookware your grandmother might have owned and you miss out on 99% of the toxic shit in your food supply, your body can handle the rest
