I see a lot of good posts about the meaning of "sideloading" recently. I've been saying this for years. It's a bad word designed to control how people think about installing software.

The FSF is not reactionary. They already foresaw stuff like this coming over 15 years ago so they started the Replicant project, which is still very much relevant today.
“Trusted computing” is the proponents' name for a scheme to redesign computers so that application developers can trust your computer to obey them instead of you. From their point of view, it is “trusted”; from your point of view, it is “treacherous.”

There are FSF and GNU articles that point out the problems and consequences of digital handcuffs, thus there really isn't anything further for the FSF to comment.
