     I've tried,. When I did in ~2019 flash was not working properly with my browser so the center design window would never load.

     @Morghur I don't think Factorio or Dwarf Fortress are autistic, they are challenging and require a lot of planning while dealing with an occasional contingency, which is something autistics can't really handle. Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing also aren't it, those are just comfy escapism games.

     Atm I'm just playing dysmantle, occasionally schedule 1, and some shitty mobile walking dead steam port (used to play it at work a lot). Need to get the modded diablo 2 nights going again if people are still interested. Doll's got the minecraft itch so I'm throwing some modpacks together for that, I'm looking forward to trying out oneblock solo leveling lol.

     Even P2W has apparently shifted, used to just be anything that gave an ingame advantage and now niggers are pretending it akshully needs to hit a list of requirements or it's "not really P2W". Bunch of fake gamers imo.
     
     Yeah I was on that page for a long time, but after a bunch of pre order fails/early access dead games/devs coming out with woke bullshit after I'd dropped them money and was past refunding etc.. I just don't care anymore, the industry needs to be burned to the ground so that something better might be able to grow from the ashes. Most of the money in gaming goes to the same people who hate gamers and are sabotaging genuine game developers. Me and Doll got schedule 1 recently, we'd already gotten enough entertainment out of it pirated, but I can't remember the last game we bought before that tbh. I think the mrs bought me Alex Jones' game for my birthday? That one was pretty funny.

     I still buy small innovative games, but the biggest competition a new game faces to me is my massive collection of existing ones, most of which I haven't played yet.
     
     Generally speaking I don't buy a new game unless it's:
     
     - Under €10
     - Does something genuinely innovative
     
     I played my way through King of the Bridge and Potioncraft lately. Both are good fun.

     Imo we've just numbed down a lot to this kind of shit, I've seen flash games with loot box gambling ffs. I think most players are fine with premium cosmetics, but even adding ~"24 hour XP boosters" acts as an incentive to make the game way shittier without paying for them. They pushed a foot, people resisted so they pulled back and kept an inch. Rinse repeat and then add in a bunch of normies who don't give a fuck because they're incapable of complex thought.

     Yeah, pay to win is my limit.
     
     But at the same time I recognise that if a game is dependent on ongoing funding (and most are) then they need some kind of ongoing revenue stream. Otherwise they're like a ponzi scheme that collapses the moment new players stop signing up.
     
     I used to buy loot boxes for TF2 for example, not because I thought I'd make any money off it but because I wanted to be a good netizen and pay for the hobby I loved. I don't anymore before they've pretty much shut down development.
     
     Same for DRG. I'm happy to throw them ten bucks once in a while given I've gotten hundreds of hours of fun from it.

     Eh, there's a bit, but I don't see it getting in the way as much.
     
     Like in DRG you can buy extra content packs for skins and weapons, but it doesn't alter the gameplay, it's just a way to donate to keep the servers running and fund new development (which I'm fine with)

     reminds me a lot of voyage century. ngl sank a lot of time into it back in the day. i think they went to Steam, and I tried it again after YEARS. same basic concept.
     
     i also happened to run into one of the three top players in the world on there and their ship and all that was....insanity. asked if i liked it enough to keep playing again, and i said sure, and they threw like a bil in gold or some shite over to me and decked me out in clean ass gear. 😆
     
     but dude said population plummeted and the remaining player base is basically OGs from certain points and noobs without anything. the people that still have equipment have to plan their battles with each other cause nobody plays.

     Yeah player retention is a huge issue in general, especially for the greedier games. Whales always eventually kill the games they play, because it becomes pretty much impossible to ever catch up and be competitive without writing a blank check.
