compiling c to javascript

@fiore asm.js moment
@lizzie i genuinely dont know how i feel about wasm
it seems like a cool concept , and i hate javascript the way its used tody
but like
at that point why not just run a program
@fiore at least it has been replaced with wasm!
@nyanide @lizzie is that really it tho ? isnt chromeos just linux ?
idk i think companies want to make faster webapps so that ppl dont have software on their machine anymore and dont own it and thus cant pirate it
which . yea maybe thats the point of chromeos actually
@nyanide @lizzie just found out that text representation of wasm looks like lisp lmfao
@coolbean @lizzie @nyanide i mean i guess that makes sense tho , for an “assembly” language
@djsumdog @lizzie @nyanide i think the chrome os stack is very very similar to a norrmal linux desktop , as much so htat you can actually install linux packages if u enable some settings (its gentoo based )
@Suiseiseki @lizzie @djsumdog @kerosene i mean couldnt adblock devs just . sort of implement adblocking for wasm as well ? sure , its binary , but its still code , right ?
@Suiseiseki @fiore @djsumdog @kerosene i mean corporate js is also often highly obfuscated. seems less likely to me that wasm is intrinsically and issue and more that google would force that capability out now that they can
