    @elilla @octade yea, if anything my biggest complaint about unicode is that by starting at iso8859-1 while hanzu are in like the 3 byte range makes it still to eurocentric by simply encoding east asian languages less efficiently

    @snacks this is true. base 6 is arguably the best of both worlds but its too small for some people which i dont get cause its like by far the best system for hand counting (assuming you have 2 hands at least one of which is 5 fingered, otherwise the award goes to binary instead)

    i think the fundamental idea of the degree is fine enough in the context it came to be, the problem with that is that we use base10 instead of base60 nowadays

    so like the original intention was 60₆₀ subdivisions of the circle which also happens to be 60*6 to mirror the fact that all 6 corners of an equal hexagon fall on the edge of a circle so a modern equivalent would be like.... a mil but rounded down to 6000 instead of up to 6400

    @snacks @k4t3 this is why im trying to move to e mount. you can get adapters for basically any lens mount in existence. lets me get away with scrounging through flea markets

    i do remember seeing some minolta slt cameras at a thrift shop a while back so i might wanna go there again to check what lenses they have there
