    >the exherbo chroot cant get an internet connection
    why do i try

    i dont even know why, dhcpcd doesnt work and it did outside the chroot. resolv.conf was copied over specifically due to this. well in any case guess im not installing any packages. frankly tempted to just keep my existing kernel and hope for the best. that ones at least known to boot and mount my file systems lol. just not sure if systemd likes not having a initramfs it generally wants to already run from that point on

    i so so so want to build my own distro around this masterful creation in package management because while i agree with the package management i could not disagree more on the rest of the system

    s6/busybox seems quite lovely. very likely also not bothering with eudev and using busybox's mdev at least initially

    @tisanae i feel it worth noting that we heat with wood/coal. i have to manually put wood and coal into the fireplace to keep it hot and keep it going. its not practical to run it for more than a few hours at a time and frankly running it hot is harmful for our fireplace and chimney

    @tisanae also as a matter of fact a small remnant of the old town wall remains in and forms the back edge of our backyard and the german government has no records of our house being built meaning its gotta AT LEAST predate the kingdom of bavaria joining the broader german empire in 1870 likely much more since i highly doubt that bavarian records werent integrated
