     I'm honestly considering emailing stallman to add "algorithm" to the GNU Words to Avoid list essay when outside of the context of mathematics and computer science.

     You're right, but this is a motte-and-bailey.
     
     Everyone across the political spectrum votes on shit they haven't a clue about all of the time, and it leads to horrible results. The only exception to this would probably be someone like Ron Paul.
     
     BUT, this is a specific framing that targets a certain demographic in order to make libby midwits feel something in their private area, which makes it slop.
