My headache is up to 10 days now, wahey.
Doctor didn't think it's anything urgent (in terms of, oh no, go to the emergency department), but it's debilitating and I'm not able to work.
I am keeping a Headache Diary with symptoms etc and will go back to doctor this Friday.
Also made an emergency appointment with dentist for tomorrow morning.
I felt a little guilty about choosing the emergency appointment option (for 'debilitating dental pain') because I don't actually know if the pain has a dental origin. And then I thought, fuck it, I can't work, I've already used up all my paid sick leave, I need to do anything I can to figure out what's causing this headache and make it better.
I'm also considering asking my Mum to come visit and bring me some of her strong painkillers. It used to be possible to buy mersyndol over the counter at the chemist, and that is the only thing that helped with the severe headaches (or migraines?) that I used to get when I was younger.
Strong painkillers are a lot harder to get in Australia these days than they were when I was young. Something about people with chronic pain being treated as scummy drug-seeking junkies?? fuck if I know. i hate that it's such an ordeal to get effective help with pain these days.
But my Mum seems to have a helpful doctor who will give her painkillers without any third degree, and she's given me some of hers in the past.
