  I should explain: if the media and all of the Very Good Salesmen are pushing an item that makes or cooks food like it is the second coming of Christ in the culinary world, you should instantly be suspicious of it. If "Everyone Likes It" and Oprah is giving them to all her friends, I want nothing to do with it.
  
  Probably the only exception I have seen is the Vitamix blender. Those really do work. But, it is the exception that proves the rule.
