Either way, it’s really just a matter of preference. I’ve been driving recently instead of flying and I find it much more enjoyable. I like seeing the country that way, you see a lot more of it that way.

Who knows if the plane is safe

military pilots can only log wheels up to wheels down. On top of that, ATP-CTP is done by the airline not the military, and in their hiring process they are very thorough in regards to scenario-based testing and will reject a LOT of “experienced” candidates

What about this is speculation though, they do audits on their pilots and keep thorough inventories on their planes due to maintenance reasons, and I have personal experience with DPEs and writtens

It calls into question the maintenance of the planes themselves and the ability of the crews to maintain them properly. This is established fact. It does not inherently mean, nor establish, that the plane itself is dangerous. It does, however, establish that with the greater number of errors like this, the odds of some form of malfunction, resulting in anything from delays to death, increases.
This, coupled with the increasing levels of all of the pre-flight nonsense and annoyance, and the drastically degraded levels of in-flight customer service, has caused me to make an informed decision: I don't fly anymore.
