I'll give Mel Brooks this: he was never truly subversive as a rule. He took shots at jews as much as he did anyone else, and never really made anyone look that bad.

I try to remain fair and balanced. I will debate a communist in good faith if he does the same. Would I rather all the Germanic Tribes return to the Aesir? Yes absolutely. But I also recognize that a millennium of Christianity has shaped much of our thinking, our culture, and our history and it cannot be ignored or dismissed. For most, embracing the Old Ways is like entering foreign lands, even if most of the holidays are exactly the same. And you are correct about insecurities. Many feel that shaky ground and will latch onto anything that gives them a sense of stability in very chaotic times. If anything comes along to challenge that, they will lash out in hidden fear at losing the very thing that gives definition to their lives.

I view it as the beginning of globalism, where Whites were focused on the happenings in foreign lands. All those men that died over the course of the Crusades could have better served their own people at home. I have heard that they were in response to muslim raids on European nations, but the taking and holding of cities like Acre or Jerusalem didn't address who was doing the actual raiding, which to my knowledge was mostly Barbary Pirates. Yes, I know, Jerusalem is the holy city of three religions, but as I've tried to explain to some, God cannot be contained in a box created by man and all man-made churches are imminently expendable.
