    I started calling this shit out back in the 70s.
    "Oh Dagnar, you old fool! There were no vidya games back then!"
    Right, but the concept of churn did, and it started in consumer products like toasters and fast food crap. Churn out shitty products that decay at an accelerated rate (planned obsolescence) to pump up annual, semi-annual, then finally quarterly sales rates. By pinning profits to that sales rate and detaching it from product quality, they cheapened and ruined everything. We saw it music, movies, appliances, cars, houses, you name it. Over time, the churn mindset infected everything and the landfills got fuller.

    This is interesting, because 6 months ago every website was saying absolutely ALL folding knives are illegal across the state, now I'm getting "no gravity or switchblades, sword canes, knuckle knives, and folding knives with blades over 4 inches." It seems either the reporting was changed or the laws were rolled back some.

    We used to worry if the blade was over 3" but now any folding knife whatsoever is illegal in NY state. Even those 1" blades most men carry for utility.

    Maybe. Gen-Z and Alphas tend to be far more anti-semitic these days according to reports (although I think a lot of that is "edgy" memes). Still, if you were to gather all of us ready to go do the thing, chances are good you wouldn't scrape up 10K bodies. That's nowhere near enough to stage a revolution these days. In 1775, sure, but not now with 380 million people.
