Even without the benefits of better braking options modern diesel engines are a bit more efficient than steam engines. This is why most modern ships use diesel or diesel electric plants over steam. With steam you end up dumping a huge amount of heat into the condenser just to make the whole cycle work. Stationary power plants are primarily still steam because of the scale involved.

  I picked my mate. Blonde, blue eyes for days. Hard worker. I was head over heels. Fast forward a few yrs. A guy on his site introduced him to meth. I did everything I could to help bring him back from that. Everything. But when his addiction put our son at risk, I had to leave. That was several years ago. I've not dated even once since.
