Well I finally got the Apple TV hooked up to the living room tv. It doesn't have any working speakers so I can only hear it through my beats ear buds or a Bluetooth speaker. I'm sure I have an extra one around here somewhere.
I also got a new ethernet cable for when I live stream I tested it out and everything works fine. I'll probably try to live stream later on.
So far #today is on track!

@That_One_Guy We have two. Someone gave us the latest one for Xmass so I took our older one and put it in the living room. Works great with other apple devices. Never had an issue with it.

I was using Roku and Google before Apple was even a thing let alone offering TV. So I felt the same way. I also don't care for their enclosed environment, sure it's safer but I like control of my devices, down to the core.

My Roku or Chromecast work the same. I'm just not an Apple fan and I've never made a secret of it.

I love ours. I always bring it on vacation, that way I have all my shows wherever.
Also, Sneaky Sasquatch is the best game ever.

@That_One_Guy @Extra_Special_Carbon @Mrfunkedude I was a longtime Android/Google guy, but have lately been going more Apple over privacy issues.
With either Google or Apple, everything you do all the time is known to the companies, so in either case users need to be okay with that. But Apple keeps that info in-house (almost entirely), while Google’s long-time business model is letting anyone who pays them tap into that data to target ads.
For me, the less widespread my data is, the better.

I also have the option to turn most of that off, just like an iPhone. When I am online I'm not targeted by personalized ads. I still believe Apple is using data for things people don't know about, but that's just my opinion.
My biggest beef with Apple is the lack of openness, It's not such a big deal now but back in the day installing custom apps on Android was a big deal and you couldn't do any of that with Apple.
So I use a Samsung Galaxy Ultra and I'm happy with that.

I suspect semantics in their breakdown. (E.g, they don’t “sell” the data because it still belongs to Google. They don’t “share” it because that implies no financial transaction has taken place, etc.)
I believe it’s about 90% of Google’s income these days is obtained from ad sales. That certainly isn’t from not selling access to unparalleled volumes of user data. There’s a reason they track and log the constant minutiae of what their users do.

According to Google's guidelines they are not selling or sharing your data either. Just between in house partners and affiliates, pretty much the same as Apple.
Any smart phone you sign into is sharing your data, it's your choice to believe the company you're handing it to is responsible with it.
