   #Introduction : Hey everyone!? I am so excited to be here. ? I have decided to leave #Mastodon for #Pleroma as this seems to be a lot less biased of a space, and I want to feel I can share an #unpopularopinion every now and then without risk of being #deplatformed for it. I stumbled across Alex's website because his blog caught my interest and discovered he hosts his own instance, so here I am!
   
   I will share a bit of everything on this account as this is now my personal/main profile. From #politics, to #bookreviews, to #memes, feel good posts, and whatever else!
   
   I am also in the process of learning #HTML and #CSS so that I can be a #theme #developer for various #Fediverse platforms in the future, because as of right now, there aren't too many aesthetically pleasing #themes out there that stand out. ? It seems to be a mostly untapped market, and with the Fediverse slowly gaining traction, I'd love to one day be known for making themes for various platforms here. So feel free to follow this account to keep up with my theme development journey!
   
   I want to start adapting to an internet culture where we coexist with each other and see each other as people again, not categories. So if anyone out there feels the same and wants to connect and be friends, here are a few of my hobbies and interests. Let me know which we have in common!

     As you can see the software's name attribute is "pleroma" where it should be "rebased" which is used by clawers to index a node.
     
     So all rebased servers appear as pleroma servers.

     @colinsmatt11 @Deus @aevisia I basically think Pleroma has served its purpose and it’s time to phase it out in favor of Rebased. Like you said, those APIs are there for compatibility. Scrapers can detect Rebased by the +soapbox in /api/v1/instance (version). I do plan to clean up the name in the docs; building the new soapbox.pub is the precursor to that. I’m going to write all new docs for that site.

     I know Rebased is a fork of Pleroma. Alex had reasons to ‘branch out’ from Pleroma, which was not just as simple as ‘compatibility issues’ from what I’ve read.

     @Deus @aevisia @alex Rebased is a fork of Pleroma so it's fine, also Alex haven't tried to differentiate it much because of compatibility reasons.

     @aevisia @renegade I hesitated to boost your post, because I know a lot of my followers are 17 year old boys who hate their job at Walmart because they got kicked out of their mom’s house. But if I didn’t, you’d probably get no interactions, so I boosted.

     The best way to deal with these retards is to make them laugh. Humor goes a long way.

     There are some awesome people here. Even the idiots will grow on you. They just don’t know how to communicate properly, and sometimes mean the opposite of what they say.

     @aevisia @alex we usually don't bother with hashtags. Go with a maximum of zero, I'm not kidding, they aren't useful in content and community search.
     
     You'll find your people by interacting. Start off with your instances local feed, chase profiles and links, and the whole fediverse filter too, for a faster paced feed of people who will still talk to us ?

     It's more than that though, ask yourself why you don't say it. It's just a word, is there any other word in the English language you'd never say? You're being controlled by society into not saying a word for the sake of a group of people who by and large would never return the same level of respect to you. Can you truly call yourself a free thinker if you don't fight back against such a ridiculous and pointless taboo?

I actually agree with that ? but I guess for me it isn't about revenge against those who don't respect me in return, I just don't want to be part of the problem that causes such division. I fought with people for 2 years between 2020-2022, and what it taught me is that always fighting against people is exhausting, it actually doesn't have any beneficial effect on the people I'm fighting against, people want to talk but they don't want to listen, It's not making us any more united, it's making us more divided. The more divided we are, the easier it is to be manipulated and controlled. So I don't want to see people as categories anymore, bound by their stereotypes because of what they associate themselves with. That's a big part of why I left Mastodon, is because a big majority of people there see people as categories, not as people, and if you aren't xyz, then you're the scum of the earth essentially. I don't really care what side of politics you're on, if you're black, white, left, right, gay, straight, whatever. I'd rather see people as just being people again. Fellow humans who on some levels I have things in common with, and on other levels not so much. The world would be a much more pleasant place to live if people started seeing each other in all the ways they are the same, instead of all the things that separate us. Maybe we really would make progress then.
     
     But all that being said, I understand why you guys do it. ? And I am not saying you shouldn't do it. My definition of fighting back against society is just different from yours. I am indeed still fighting back, because I am opting for something different than what I identify the problem to be. Plus, I have chosen to be here and not there ? (Mastodon).

     I guess what bothers me is Mastodon themselves shadow bans servers that don't enforce moderation for racism, sexism, and transphobia. I'm not talking about individual instances, but the devs and their server lists. While that sounds like a good thing on the surface, that also means there can't be any real discussion about it and all you get for those topics are echo chambers or else you get shadow banned. I don't believe people are inherently hateful for having a different perspective on those topics. I am sure many will disagree with me on that, but my train of thought is how are we ever to move forward as a collective if we are conditioned that it's automatically wrong to have any other perspective than the ones that are pre-approved for us? There leaves no room for growth or trying to understand each other if we are all forced to be in an echo chamber of everyone who already agrees with us. No problems get resolved that way. How are people ever to work out their differences if there isn't even room for rational discussions about these topics? I just feel like in the long run it does more harm than good. It is pretty easy to distinguish between posts that are intended to hurt people, and posts that are intended to spark critical discussion of a topic and share perspective. The problem is, there's such a strong victim mentality that's been cultivated over the years that we've reached a point where those two things are somehow perceived to be merged together, even though the intentions behind both are very different; one to cause harm, the other to share perspective and bridge the gaps. I don't know that I would ever even post about those things, but I know I probably have some perspectives that would get me banned from an instance if I ever shared how I truly felt. I'm not hateful, but there are definitely double standards I see in these kinds of topics that would likely cause me to fall under those labels simply because my perspective is different than what the echo chamber wants to hear. I would like to support a platform that doesn't shadow ban instances and encourage banning people for simply for wanting to have those critical discussions. Does that make sense? ?
     
     Sorry again that was so long winded lol. I've learned over the years to thoroughly explain myself. Often times people twist words or take things the wrong way and assume things. ? Had lots of bad experiences with that in the past so I try not to leave room for misinterpretation.
     
     Friendica is a pretty good platform I think! I've found a bit more openness there, but depends on the instance you join too kind of like Mastodon. ? As far as I'm aware I don't think they shadow ban instances. I'd still love to follow you if you migrate there! Though, after reading this if you think I'm a racist, transphobe, sexist, etc you don't have to pass along your follow info if you don't want to. ? I'll still have a spirituality channel somewhere separate from my main account like I did on Mastodon. I'm just trying to figure out where in the Fediverse I fit right now and which platforms to call home.
