    @alex @Humpleupagus @matty @pasture @graf @mint /cow/ is a very long running lolcow imageboard which is the primary competitor of Kiwi Farms (which came about later). Generally speaking, /cow/ and Kiwi have extremely hostile attitudes to each other and this extends to properties which can be seen to be "affiliated" with one or the other. My best guess is that someone who was a /cow/ regular held a grudge against chudbere because of her site essentially being Kiwi/eceleb central and decided to compromise everything for lulz and to send a message. To answer your last question, no, these people don't care about the fediverse as a whole, it's just internecine community drama that they pursue for the hell of it.

The fact that it was all leaked to nu-/cow/ sticks out like a sore thumb to me tho, which suggests internecine lolcow community drama more than... like... whatever Alex was proposing in his post (that it was a cum.salon-type gayop). Ultimately, if I had to wager a guess, it's someone deep in lolcow circles who had an axe to grind against the admins because of retarded eceleb drama and decided on the most spectacular revenge they could manage.
