Functional African countries basically don't have these problems and they're slowly and steadily growing in ranks (although not without problems because of a mixture of colonial legacies, the truly god-awful borders, and nativist despotism)

    @mia @anemone @meso @marine @Senator_Armstrong @Kacho @bot @n3n3tl Yeah honestly, not "tweakers", but I hope every African country can get at least as level headed an administration and culture as Botswana currently has, then they'd be a long way towards alleviating their current troubles. (as a sidenote, it always cracks me up when people bring up Africa in the context of complaining about black people in America, since the two groups couldn't be further apart in a lot of respects and they actually more or less hate each other or have a feigned peace at best)

Leave the Portland platitudes at the door, and leave those who actually have domain experience with the issues at hand to deal with it amongst themselves. The condescension act is not something which serves to further anything and in fact only worsens matters for all involved. And also, as a sidenote, the schizo stuff *legitimately* irks me for personal reasons I don't wish to get into here.

It's a hot fucking button for me and I am not going to see it casually used as an insult in my presence. If you have a problem with this, I don't know what to tell you besides that making fun of the mentally ill for things they can't help about themselves is legitimately one of the most pernicious and despicable parts of internet culture, and when the irony veneer is torn off, that's all this really is.
