@kaia I wish there was at least one modern smartphone that came with a keyboard these days. I understand most people don't need it, but just give us one.

@kaia It's a multiplayer dice roller for playing tabletop games online. I'll release the source code once it's in a usable state.
I made the exact same thing in Unity before, but since Unity is an evil corporation now, and I hate C# anyways, I decided to remake it in Godot before adding more features.

Guys, it happened. :drgn_flat_sob:
Despite me being an absolute performance addict beyond reason, I have decided not to write my dice roller entirely in C++, for now. At least not until Godot 4.2 comes out, which brings hot-reloading to GDExtension.
GDScript is slow, and I really hate wasting people's CPU cycles, but prototyping the game logic is just so much quicker because it's right in the editor and changes are applied immediately.
I am also certain that I will be able to convert GDScript to GDExtension C++ fairly easily, because all I do is call engine functions, basically. It's just a matter of translating the syntax.
Last but not least, It would make a nice case study to directly compare the same implementations in GDScript and GDExtension C++.

Now, this is a prime example of peak efficient web design: https://hackerboards.com
- loads in under 200ms
- 132 KB transferred
- works without #JavaScript
- uses system font and native controls
- still looks and feels goodWell done, @hackerboards!
My only gripe is that it doesn't respect `prefers-color-scheme` of the browser.

@FoxVK @hackerboards It really is a shame. Back in the 2010s everyone wanted to dynamically load stuff with JavaScript because downloading the entire page every time was too slow.
Now, with bandwidths caught up, it's actually faster to just send the entire HTML and be done with it.

@kaia 1. The battery seems too small.
2. It relies on the sturdiness of the seat post, which is usually pretty wonky in cheaper bicycles.
3. It would become dirty extremely quickly ride and probably fail because of mud and stones clogging up the mechanism. -

@ente Germans actually hate other Germans, so they try their best to hide it.
Also, something about being inclusive of non German speakers.

@kaia @grillchen I do wonder though if having everything optimised for your CPU makes a perceivable difference.

@youronlyone @autistics @actuallyautistic It baffles me how some employers want to to "file" sick leave. You don't file sick leave, it just happens. Being sick is by definition an unforeseen event. Otherwise you might just call it "the other holiday leave"

@davidrevoy Since you have declined their terms, you don't have any contract with them. So, from my intuitive legal understanding, you should have a right to disclose which company this was. If you wish, that is.
