It’s a lovely day for riding monorails, but I’m hungry, so I will pause briefly in Backwerk.

There is a delay!

The Schwebebahn runs every 3 minutes, so no need to go back and forth repeatedly if I want to visit all 20 stations. So first, let’s go to one end of the line, Vohwinkel.

Vohwinkel has a couple of things of interest. A park close to the station has some bits and bobs of Schwebebahn on display.

My new synthpop album just dropped.

The quickest way to Cologne from Dortmund today is to change at Wuppertal. Gets me there faster than the earlier, direct RE1. Whatever will I do in my 8 minutes, same platform, connection?

Why I don’t travel around the UK as much as I do around Europe, even though getting to Europe is a bit of a pain (thanks, idiots in England):

15 day continuous Interrail 1st Class pass (Adult): €605 (£500)

14 day continuous UK All Line Rail Rover, 1st class (adult): £1387 (€1677)

The Interrail pass includes two “own country” days to get me to the continent, and there is a supplement of €34 each way to use the Eurostar, but it covers almost all of Europe. The All Line Rail Rover covers the UK.

Even though it’s probably in one of the first lessons you do these days, there’s a bit of really basic German I don’t know. How do you pronounce the @ when you are giving someone your e-mail address, Fediverse details etc?
