We are finishing up the two final projects (bylaws and business plan) of the co-op course we have followed for nearly three years, based on the manual by @luisrazeto. The mood is shifting as we come into our own as a cooperative, and everyone is happy and eager.

@evan Of course, but this is a new technology that is leading to massive new data center construction...

@evan We need to take seriously the moment we are in, when we can resist the proliferation of this system. On environmental grounds alone we can refuse to support this massively destructive technology.

@ntnsndr Seems like a useful exercise in that it prompts discussion and reflection about our goals and principles, but I think the CECOSESOLA people may be right about focusing on constant conversation instead of a statement of principles.What would you want to add/change?

Sometimes tools just don't grab me until I need them, then, it's like "Hey! This is helpful!" I am having that moment with Community Rules https://communityrule.info/book/

It's helpful for identifying existing community rules (including those that are not explicit but are "just the way we do things," as well as for imagining new ways to organize decision-making.

Finding this booklet by @ntnsndr et al. very useful as I think about how to facilitate governance design for @SunMtnFarmClub , (though I think social.coop is a mix of circles and do-ocracy, not just the latter).

Fascinating movie:In the Garden of Women. (女の園) by Kinoshita Keisuke, 木下恵, 1954. About a student rebellion in a girls' school. Full of class, gender, and post-war political dynamics.
