@DreamGryphon#loops is supposed to take videos up to 60s, and I previously uploaded some longer ones. I’m currently getting “unknown error” for anything between about 15 and 59s. I’m on a good wifi connection, speed test about 22Mbit/s upload. @dansup
@GossiTheDog@SteveSyfuhs The report clearly says that AWS, GCP and Oracle cloud all have far better practices like automated key exchange and reduced key scope and use of HSMs, and I know that AWS has had these for many years. I’d expect the competition to use this to win a bunch of cloud deals from Azure. If I was a CIO I’d be trying to move email (the most locked in cloud service) from Microsoft to Google ASAP.
@GossiTheDog I thought that when Charlie Bell went to Microsoft he was going to try to fix their security architecture amongst other things… EVP Security? He ran a tight ship at AWS. Wonder what happened? https://www.linkedin.com/in/charlie--bell
@aka_pugs Reliable instant sleep/wake. Reliable secure over the air updates. No hassle disk encryption. Time Machine backups. Mostly a bunch of ease of use things so that most people aren’t aware of the underlying OS.
#music I like Deep Purple, have seen them play a few times, so I decided to listen to all their albums from the first one in order, reading the relevant Wikipedia pages as I go. The enduring thing I’m noticing is just how good Ian Paice is as a drummer. He’s also the only original member that’s been in every version of the band. So far I’ve listened to the first three albums which were ok, the well known Ian Gillan/Roger Gover period, and just got to Made in Japan, which is an epic live album.
@evan in the early days when Netflix was US based and mostly DVD there was a “gay content” flag that defaulted off for new accounts. If you watched some Margaret Cho or mildly gay themed TV shows it would turn on then the more explicit gay content would no longer be filtered out. Nowadays they are global and have a much more complex way to hide things you probably don’t want to see, and different jurisdictions get different content.
