@Moon@JAJAX The numbered jokes is the oldest joke, I heard it back in the 80s.
Regiment's officers are in a sitting room with whores and tell jokes. Major says, "Just like today, 3!" Everyone laugh uproariously. Captain says, "not bad, but listen to this: 18." The officers laugh politely. Then, Lt. Rzhewski comes to the center space and proclaims "... 73!" Everyone is shuffling. Cornet comes to Rzhevski, slaps him across the face, and exclaims: "How can you tell such filthy jokes in the presence of ladies, Lieutenant!"
@shibao@Moon I think you may be right, although I don't understand in detail how IPFS works. Someone, somewhere, has to keep the object or all of its segments.
Remember that torrents are very much a here and now kind of source. They only exist as long as someone seeds. And that can fail. For example, I'm seeding Ginban Caleidoscope but there aren't any trackers for it anymore. BoxTorrents nee BakaBT keeps the last one, but they blacklist my client due to incorrect regex. Many such cases.
@lain I'm just back from a skating rink in Cedar Park, Texas, and it was full of girls in late teens of early 20s who looked exactly like that, minus the shades, wearing hoodies. All the fatties disappeared. There was one medium sized young lady, who brought in her boyfriend and was teaching him to skate.
I forgot to mention that I don't take any pharmaceuticals now, but I had a blood thinner regime for a clot for a few months (triggered by Wuhan Corona virus). Also, doctors tried to get me on blood pressure medications, which I only manage to stave off with exercise. If I stop running or moving energetically, my blood pressure will spike and I will stroke out.
@Moon@a1ba I caught the tail end of X11R4, used it with twm on SunOS 4.1.2. That said, even my first Linux, SLS 1.2, came with Xfree86 of some sort. And of course the X11R5 took over Sun by that time. From what I heard, the X10 was significantly different from what's normal nowadays. The photo in Encyclopedia Britannica article about Sun is about the only remaining screencap. Its stark nature and weird OSD bar is on display there.
@miscbrains@Moon@tk I fly my own ariplane everywhere it can reach. Unfortunately it does not have the range to cross oceans, otherwise I'd fly it to Japan too. Life goals, I guess.
@Moon@feld@dweinberger Apropos that, I have a friend, who gets issued official fake government IDs due to the nature of this work. And so, one day, he came to the DMV as usual to get his fake driver licence, and they told him that he now has to have a fake 2nd ID, although a fake SS card works. He had to go to his supervisors and than get SSA petitioned to mint him a fake card, then go get it, come back to the DMV and submit all the papers for the fake DL. The bureaucracy is just getting worse every year. The root cause of it was the Congress passed some law or the other called "Real ID". It stipulated that all IDs, including fake ones, must be backed by 2 other IDs. So if you want to have a fake Real ID compliant ID, you have to preset 2 IDs, which can be fake of course. The only remaining upside of this, aside from needing fake IDs for life safety, is the opportunity to get creative with assumed names.
@goatmeal@bot TFW you cannot tell if these are legacy trannies like Lynn Conway (like "cryptofascists") or trannies that are into cryptocurrency pyramid schemes.
