@FlashMobOfOne thanks! That’s great to hear! There are some positions I could work with but they are hybrid or in office so no go, unfortunately. I’ve been fully remote since 2010
Also if you are seeing this and thinking “my company isn’t like this” then awesome! Please let me know. I’d love to support companies like that.
Plus I’m on the #Job hunt so interested in potential working relationships with companies that care about their customers/end users and the impact the company has on the world.
Pride exists to centre #lgbtq experiences, not to dilute them for straight consumption. "Family friendly" is ok, and it's a kind of progress, yes, but it's not welcoming for all.
The event felt like a kids' carnival, and the drag show was all straight folks. It decentred #lgbtq folks from #pride
@jacklaridian I get that and feel similarly. But also feel quite hopeless so it’s easier to ignore it and swallow that pain than yell since it’s like yelling into the void. The institutions exist to support the power staying with those who have it, so there is lots of gaslighting and denial and victim blaming.
So it can be easier to just eat the hurt. Which sucks.
@jacklaridian hiya! Totally agree with you on this. Especially as a former catholic and grown queer person. I often think of posting stuff like this but feels like since the church doesn’t care, that it feels for moot. Can I ask, for you, what compels you to post about it?
