Monday mornings are made for coffee, and this new mug, fresh from the kiln is ready for it!
Have a great week everyone 😊

Someone was just asking if I made plant pots the other day. I've made a number of them for my own home, and a few for friends.
This design (not specific to this glaze) is a prototype I'm considering offering when I relaunch my website.
A tiny seed bursting with potential.
Earlier this year, I started a bunch of perennial plants by seed, and this is one of the ones that flowered this year!
I had not even heard of Malva before, but I'm sure glad I did 😊🌸💮
Part of what inspires my work is a deep connection with the wonders of nature and this amazing world we live on.
Working with the earth, literally, through clay, deepens my connection, wonder and peace with this interconnectedness.
We are one with the Earth, so let's take good care of it, and each other.

When the stars align and your skills converge with the emergence of increasingly majestic images of the cosmos as your inspiration anything is possible.

In Greek mythology, a little owl represents or accompanies Athena and has become known as a symbol of knowledge and wisdom attesting to the staying power of the Olympians. The whispers of Athena's legacy are everywhere.
The symbology of the owl has often inspired my own journey. The ability to see through the darkness of life and find knowledge is a potent totem.

Let's make Mastodon an artist friendly alternative to mainstream social media and help bring more beauty to these chaotic times.
Please share, boost and follow so I can share my work with more people.
Here are a few pieces of my raku pottery and a photo of a firing in process!
I was tidying up our shade garden and this little one not only had a lot to say about it, but they also decided to drop a pine cone on me.
A collection of blue raku pottery vases in honour of the DNC and my sincere hope of a Harris/Walz win.
I may be Canadian, but:
-I don't want live above a christo-fascist state lead by autocratic fundamentalists.
-I support rights for women and LGBTQ and want them to be safe.
-I don't think rapists should be allowed to be President.
-I don't support billionaires getting richer.
It's long overdue for a woman to be President.
Some casual observations about our local 'family friendly' pride.
-There were more straight people at this event than LGBTQ people (by a lot)
-There were more activities for children then LGBTQ people.
-There were very few gay men in attendance
-there was not one public display of affection between LGBTQ people and we would not have felt comfortable or safe doing so.
'Family friendly' pride is just a glass closet straight people want to put us in.
No thanks.
Guess who is now half a century old?
It took me till my early 40s to find my true passion of creating pottery and making art from clay. I'm always feeling like I am late to my calling and trying to play catch up.
If you have an interest in art or pottery and like the work you see below, consider helping to support this older person's dreams and follow along to be a part of my pottery journey. And remember, it's never too late to chase your dream
Introducing one of my creations.
For me, this glaze whispers ancient coppery secrets. Can you imagine being the first potter to see this colour after firing clay wares over 5000 years ago?
Whether it was intentional exploration, or a happy accident, we will never know!
