Due to Comiket, there will be no Streaming Saturday this week. However, if you see anything from C105 you wish you could have a hardcopy of, hit me up by Dec.28th and I'll be happy to mail it to you from Japan, as long as you have enough magic internet money :morshu:

@king You mean like Subscriber Only posts? Nothing, I don't have any sus-crabs. If I did I'd probably post something to it, though.
@king I haven't seen anything yet, but I'll check back tomorrow morning and let you know
@king Okay, I wasn't sleepy enough so I got on it now. I'ma page @silverpill into this conversation as well
Initially my server logs were showing errors regarding the subscription payment, and when I checked my monero_rpc service It was rejecting the tx for some reason. I've had this problem before, so I went into the monero_rpc config and changed the remote daemon address... actually had to change it a couple of times, but once it connected to a remote node successfully the payment transaction was recognized. I can see it confirming in my wallet now.
Right now I'm a little concerned that a back end monero_rpc error can easily go unnoticed.. if King hadn't told me he was testing subscriptions, I might not have noticed and the sub wouldn't show up on my end until I realized there were errors in the log.
Checking the logs for errors is arguably a responsibility of an instance admin, but I feel like some system to more noisily alert an instance admin of problems with the monero_rpc server might be a good idea... not sure how to implement that, though.
Work is still incomplete, but this is the new cover design for the upcoming JP Mitra install guide doujin (with Shadow Wizards courtesy of @ehhh ).
The completed book will be debuted in Onionket 8 next February, and then God willing the physical version will be printed for Summer Comiket C106 in August after that.

I'm 70% sure this is just trolling, but it's still the funniest thing I've seen all day

@silverpill I checked access logs, and I can see the API endpoint being hit. If I'm reading the log right, it's returning 200 OK. So I don't know if there's something wrong about my placement of the XMR address in account description, or if the Masto fetcher is broken on Cake Wallet's end.
Apparently I have a long, looong wait before I can play more cannibal-incest game. Newer chapters of Andy & Laylay won't be out for years, apparently.
@silverpill I tried it with my Mitra account here, but no dice.
@silverpill I've been poking at this a few days, and there's basically zero documentation I can find for the Mastodon implementation in Birdpay.
This is the commit: https://github.com/cake-tech/cake_wallet/pull/1107/files
...but I'm not sure I understand what address format it's expecting. I thought it'b be @username@instance or URL/@username but neither work
@sun LBRY was much the same, I felt. Rode in on promises of decentralization and user-ownership just to bootstrap its own brand.
"I was skeeting on BlueSky, and I made the longest rope I've ever seen... it was astounding"

@silverpill Does this mean support for non-Twitter/X addresses are already supported to a degree?
CakeWallet has a novel feature I wasn't aware of until now. If you pin an XMR (or other supported) wallet address on your TwiXer profile, or put it in your bio, CakeWallet will automagically map to that address if you input the TwiXer handle in the Sending dialogue.
I would very much like to see this feature extended to Fedi. Support for addresses in bio fields is already a part of Mitra, I'm sure it'd be simple enough to integrate
BlueSky has apparently perfected Anti-Dunking Technology™
The hugbox is coming along nicely, then...
@silverpill By "decouple", do you mean that the subscription system could operate without any payment component at all, and that payment would be an optional extension of it? What would be the main difference between Subscribers and Followers in this case... Subscriber Only Posting?
I actually had to click on the starburst icon before I realized it was the new Subscription Management section... it's not really a big deal in the scheme of things, but it's actually hard to think of a good, simple icon to represent "Subscriptions" as a concept when it isn't associated with money.
I see the Mitra subscription icon changed from the dollar sign coin to a starburst icon... personally I preferred the clear visual connotation to money, but I guess this works too.
