@ryanc Doesn't seem to be anything we can do as a channel owner. I assume it's based on a rather broad keyword match in the transcript.

I don't think it's impossible for small sites to comply, but the guidance is terrible and it seems like it's always going to leave you with some risk.

New version of my visualisation of world power networks mapped on OpenStreetMap, with data from today.

I've added power plants to this iteration - although these are covered by power lines in denser areas, I think they give a bit more detail in darker areas.

@manawyrm @ryanc MK/Honeywell are considered the gold standard brand for electrical hardware in the UK and they do make some which look to be decent (now even with PD). Haven't seen inside one though.

@manawyrm @ryanc the other problem with these USB charging sockets is that they are encouraging more people to change their sockets who don't really have the expertise to do it safely...

I remember reading a paper about it but I can't find it now...

@bebatjof @goatsarah one of the theories is that they were primarily annoyed at the fishing boats but they found sailboats more enjoyable to attack, and it became more of a play/bonding thing.

Interestingly this behaviour started in mid-2020, after boat volumes reduced due to covid lockdowns. I wonder if they thought they could make the boats go away again.

I was going to upload some of the X-rays of my leg to Wikimedia Commons, as they're a lot better than the existing images on Wikipedia, but I just realised I don't own the copyright to them.

It's kind of weird that someone else owns the copyright to an image of my own bones.
