The original is not on twitter anymore and anyway none of the people still using that dumpster fire of a platform would hand around a take like that. To my shame, I didn't take the time to also check if it ended up here. I just wanted this notion to be around again.

@futurebird @Remittancegirl you know in the EU some people try to push the "right to repair" through parliament? And this is tied to repair cafes? This is real community building stuff. Upcycling has been a trend for some time now. And France has implemented a bonus if you let your stuff get repaired instead of throwing it away. Think about it: this benefits small local businesses and you lessen slave labour in other parts of the world.

@Pearl22 das funktioniert auch nie wieder. Der sich abzeichnende Arbeitskräftemangel wird dazu führen, dass auch Frauen verstärkt arbeiten müssen. Die Gesamtwirtschaft kann es sich nicht leisten, die zu Hause sitzen zu lassen und das wissen auch viele. Diese Forderung gibt's halt auch nur, damit Boomer dich wählen.
