@silverpill@mitra.social Yeah, from what I read they were going to basically decentralized the hosting but centralize the protocol. So a host or node would get some kind of governance position and the "right" to host an instance on the protocol's network. It was very scummy sounding through and through.

@ryo@social.076.ne.jp Not a lolicon fan but I agree censorship is bad and self-hosted/decentralization is the only way ahead. It's either that or repression of expression and losing freedom to information/data.

Kinda crazy that there are so many instances out there. People can go anywhere; Have multiple accounts all over. Yet, it seems like there is always some inter-instance drama surrounding like 1-3 users.

Also, I've noticed that a lot of Fediverse admins are prima donnas. So much drama starts or continues because no admins seem to want to handle things in a mature, professional way. Instead, instance administrators hang their dirty laundry out to dry, putting all their issues on blast for the entire community to see.

@e@masochi.st I get no lag and I enjoy the UI. I also enjoy a lot of its other features, e.g.: individual user drives, fully featured pages with page builder, etc.. It can be a standalone self-hosted social network unto itself. I.e., it's not just a Fedi client. @7@collapsitarian.io
