Bah, just heard that the letting agent can’t find a cleaner to do the new place until 7th October. So our move in date is 10th, a full month later than we originally planned. We’ve already packed most of the house 😭

A week on from our original moving date and we’re still no closer to moving house. We’re continuing to slowly pack, and have reached the point where we’ve run out of steam to get moving.

First joke I’ve had to delete since I got back on here. Today’s was because some nerds think they’re smarter than they are and reply with stuff they think makes them sound super smart but shows they didn’t actually understand the silly joke I made. Yep. All social media is bad because people have terrible comprehension skills

@nirak I’ve seen friends talk about this! The thing in in rhe Uk is that they changed a bunch of laws around this and most tenants don’t know about the new laws, for example they can’t charge you for a deep clean out of your deposit. Our letting agent was saying he’d had a tenant manage to friction burn a big hole in a carpet with an exercise bike and the courts said it was legit wear and tear.

@nirak She can’t, there are really strict rules around that in the UK, she doesn’t hold the deposit it’s helt in a trust scheme where she doesn’t have access, it’s held by an intermediary, she needs to propose to us what she wants to take out based on quotes for getting the work done. We can then challenge it, or negotiate, if we challenge we can go to court and let them decide. Courts tend to find for tenants

Our landlady, via the letting agent has sent us 6 messages since she served the eviction notice to tell us that she was very mad we put a cat flap in the uPVC back door and that we will need to pay for it from our deposit.

She’s going to be so mad when she sees I’ve replaced the panel 😂

@brumph that is the LEAST of the issues with the kitchen, there are so many wrong things. This house is awful
