@Gargron Moin. Da wurde extrem aufgeräumt, kann das sein? Die reduzierte Zahl ist mir letzte Woche schon aufgefallen. Und jetzt föderiert das System 50k Löschungen!?!
I'm referring to the new front page design... so just the very first page, you get, when requesting mastodon.social - ends up in displaying URL https://mastodon.social/web/explore - so i'm not logged in and did nothing else. Just the landing page.
Regarding the new #Mastodon instance web design (as currently showing at mastodon.social), i've noticed the following:
* Older Firefox browser doesn't show anything (just black)
* Latest Firefox version (105) doesn't allow to scroll the left column... so you can't get to all content, if your resolution isn't large enough... (Workaround: Resize/Zoom the browser's display).
Well, this toot is about indicating the used server software.
Using /api/v1/instance it will provide a field [version] (for example "3.5.3"), but no field is provided, that informs about the used server software. Same for a Pixelfed instance (e.g. [version] = "2.7.2 (compatible; Pixelfed 0.11.3)" (example for non Mastodon).
#Mastodon is providing via /nodeinfo/2.0 two fields: [software][name] and [software][version], e.g. "mastodon" and "3.5.3". (Also included supported protocols...)
So i type in a search (using #Tusky to have a real request, that should be proven) for an existing user account on my (test) server. Response: Nothing...
I can see one incoming webfinger request on my server and two requests for the users. So i assume, it will be satisfied with the webfinger result, but not with the user lookup, so it tries again. At least this is my current theory...
