Regarding the men missing from this morning's tragic Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse in Baltimore (in my home state of Maryland), "The missing men are from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras & Mexico, and live in Dundalk & Highlandtown. They are in their 30s and 40s...w spouses & children.
All of them came to the city for a better life." --- Justin Fenton, investigative reporter for The Baltimore Banner. Dundalk & Highlandtown are working-class towns that have drawn immigrants for years.

When the results came in, it turned out theirs were SUPERIOR to those of the male astronauts. Pres. Johnson and NASA were told about this, and their response, “We don’t need any women astronauts.” Makes me wonder how different our space program would be today if women had gone to space back then. #Mercury13

He interviews 10 ordinary Germans to understand how they became complicit in the mass hysteria of Nazism. I’m finding it to be prescient and chilling. Recommended reading for anyone interested in understanding what Hannah Arendt described as the “banality of evil”. Relevant to what’s happening now, unfortunately.

Hitler and the Germans want to make everyone in the world work for them and not be able to have homes and enjoy Xmas and free schools and think like you want to think so some one has to fight them so that they won’t be able to do this and I have to be in the army to help keep them from taking our house away from us and so we can go to shows, school, church and enjoy our family as we please."
