ICE planned to turn a huge warehouse in Salt Lake City into a detention center housing up to
10,000 people. Citizens fought back and killed the project.
Keep fighting. They can and will be defeated.

Missed this obituary a couple days ago. Victor Willis, the cop in Village People, has died at 74.
He co-wrote YMCA.
It's an iconic, joyous dance tune, too good to allow trump to appropriate it. RIP Victor, and thanks for the music.

@JustRosy That's interesting. The rule is to be implemented no later than January 2027, but will take effect end ofJuly. How are people supposed to take the multiple steps required to keep their Medicaid in such a short time frame? Do recipients even know that this is happening?
Helluva way to run a government program that services 70 MILLION people. Thanks, Dr. Oz, and big FU to you and Kennedy.

Netanyahu's move to draft ultra-Orthodox Israelis will likely topple his government in the near future. This group has been spared from compulsory military service in the past, and their anger over the decision will quite possibly shatter the ruling coalition.

US Supreme Court guts crucial part of the Voting Rights Act. 6-3 decision says that considering race when drawing Congressional districts constitutes "racial gerrymandering" and can't be permitted. The law had stood for 60 years.

ICE clusterfuck. Sheer incompetence on display. Agents insisted on putting a voluntary Indian deportee on a flight from Seattle to Alaska. He had paid for his own return flights home.
Despite warnings from airline personnel that this was not the correct flight, ICE forcibly boarded him. He was actually booked on a flight to New York City. The man was stranded in Alaska and then sent back to a detention facility before being returned to India.

@jeridansky The very lowest prices in Ventura County are around $5/gallon today.
Even the typically low priced naval base, which was below $4/ before trump's Iran misadventure, is at $5.14 today.

@NorcalGma2 @j@janerationx.social
Can't seem to find your show at that site. 😥
Any other suggestion?

@NorcalGma2 I will check again in a couple days. 🌞

@jeridansky I remember reading about Tehran's severe water crisis late last year. The city was already in imminent danger of running out of potable water. War can only exacerbate an already dire situation.
Tehran is more populous than New York City, metro area is home to more than 16 million people. 😔

@bmacDonald94 I can only imagine! They are on a world tour right now, and I'm still hoping to catch them in person someday.
My favorite War tune, if I had to choose, is "All Day Music". 🌞
