Maybe I’m a fool. Maybe I’ve succumbed to doomer toots, but here’s where I’m at:

I have no doubt I will be able to cast a ballot in November. What happens to that ballot after being cast is an unknown.

Theoretically the voting system is very resilient, but it assumes good actors, and not a systemic coordinated attack from within.

Elections are local. Thousands of districts. But only like, 5 in the entire US need to be strategically disrupted to alter a national outcome. It doesn’t take much.

I’m still low-key mad PanAm doesn’t exist in the future so we could have cool-ass excursions to the Bahamas Underwater Hotel.

I find it really fascinating to watch devs go from, like, fairly normal, to totally AI red pilled. It all kinda ends up the same way tho.

@thomasfuchs weird question… do you have a non-CD ROM CD player? I’ve found some damaged CDs will play fine in a normal music CD player that barf in CDROM drives.

It is so wild we live in an age where multiple sclerosis now has a medication that will basically halt progress. Growing up, I knew countless people who were utterly crippled by it, and died early.

And now, that’s preventable.

Hell, even the ‘bootleg’ ‘Drown’ double-live album (back when you’d find mysterious CDs made in Germany in the bin of your local indie record shop) — which is probably their best album ever — has him getting petulant toward the audience.

I mean, sure, audiences can also be jerks, but still.

Is Billy Corgan a twat? Indubitably, but this album is brilliant.

Did I just go from Sarah Vaughan to this? Yes. Yes I did.

The mix is very different from the original CD that I must have listened to a bajillionty times since it’s come out. I’d put it on endless repeat at the video store (yes, I lived Clerks whilst attending university). The lower mids are much more full, but also more discrete. The wash of guitar distortion is still there, but maybe a bit more compressed for vinyl.

Possibly the dumbest thing about #PathOfExile2 is the procedural maps absolutely suck electric eel dong. It’s just not fucking fun to follow a path for forever to have it end up in a dead end, without even a loot box or enemy or anything. Then to slog all the way the fuck back.

Don’t even get me started on ::the rest of the horrible UX::
