     @thomasfuchs wouldn’t memory be an issue then? I don’t how how Mac internal works but that could be a reason for not allowing 5K

     @thomasfuchs what I bet their research tells them is that the audience they've assigned to that product doesn't use external displays.

     You don't have to design the line for every use, you have to design to the requirements of the user.

     @thomasfuchs Notionally I agree, but I also think the primary buyer for a neo isn’t the same buyer of their high end expensive displays (all of Apple’s displays are ‘high end’). Overall, I don’t think it’ll affect sales.

     @thomasfuchs until yesterday, the entry point to the platform was $999. Now it's half that in edu, $599 for normies. It's truly an entry level product. They're opening the door to more people on the platform. 3-5 years from now, that person maybe moves up to an Air and a Display.

     @thomasfuchs I know we all have different circles, but I personally know of 0 people using external monitors for studying. It’ll work out fine for Apple.
