I would have to guess it is the pay and that none of the jobs (very limited) are really "civil engineering" as we might expect them to be based on this site.
>Especially as he had no idea how harsh our questions were. The list kicked off with ‘Why is uni careers advice so bad?’ – and got progressively meaner. > >– Is uni careers advice stuck in the past? >– Whose fault is it that so many students never visit their careers service? >– Does a sinister careers ‘mafia’ put its own interests before those of students and graduates? >– And is it true that most uni careers advisers have never had a proper job? (Ouch!)

@lnxw48a1 There was a time when I wore a watch. Then I stopped around the time of smart phones but not completely because of the phone, the job I had at the time caused me to remove them very often, sometimes not willingly (they got caught on things) and while they were cheap Casio watches I said enough and have not worn one since.
>Block User > >Blocks a user so he can't participate anymore. The scope is determined by the target field: either a community, or a whole instance. The removeData field can optionally be set to indicate that all previous posts of the user should be deleted.
It also includes an expire date/time field, so I guess it is the same as a ban.
It does seem rather harsh that someone who could be discussing (assume a polite difference of view) something that a mod (with an objection to the view) on a different instance can ban them globally for it.

@fu @lnxw48a1 I think what we are seeing play out is what George Carlin was talking about...
>Governments don’t want well informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking. That is against their interests. >They want obedient workers, people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork. And just dumb enough to passively accept it. – George Carlin

@lnxw48a1 With any luck most if not all of the food allergies will be out grown as they get older. At one point it was easier to list what I was not allergic to, these days the food ones are easy to control with limiting those things that cause issues.
@lnxw48a1 I have my own workaround for just this issue. I raise my hand to the "Stop/Hold" position. Get to a point where I can stop and leave myself a note on the next thing to do. Then let them interrupt me. I have even done this to my former boss and the owner. It wasn't long before they adopted it for the same reason. YMMV
@lnxw48a1 That could be the reason (I have seen the M/F/age difference issues before) but keeping an eye out for that and other odd behavior (other than "normal" cat oddities) has been a trigger for a trip to the vet if it sticks around and is not a one off.
@lnxw48a1 If this is something new the cats are doing, there might have a medical issue, I hope not but I have seen it in the past but usually a single cat not multiple.
