Is it fair to say that the Extra Large Widget option from iOS 27 is really meant for the Duo’s outer screen?

A kind thought:

It’d be good to see apps with mockups that don’t show the usual podcasts and sites in certain circles.

This week was a wake up call to many, yet some decided to ignore it.

A small rant:

I'd take a 20MB Geocities site about what an app is and a short bio of the developer any day, instead of a clearly-made AI site that reads and looks terrible and misses the point completely.

This month, I've received some emails that have similar opening lines, strange CTA ones, and no way of telling me why they made the app and how it helps someone.

I've been deleting a bunch of these this month. Let's do better.

And then, moves on to iPad Prime Day deals.

And why have RAM prices increased?

Apple explains in its press release:
‘The rapid expansion of AI data centers has created an extraordinary surge in demand for memory and storage" and that the company has "never seen a component price increase this much, this quickly."

The article was hurriedly updated to include the above - but it doesn't explain the point further. Just, RAM price increases are to blame.

Shockingly irresponsible to the reader.

Unfortunately, when I see the words, ‘I just made an app’ in a post, I now have to double check if it’s been made with AI.

Nothing unusual about it.
It's not a good update.

But, also: Go on TikTok and Reels, and many teens are saying the same thing. It's a trend that's certainly growing in that age range. It makes a difference.

I've been having a nightmare with Safari these past few weeks.
It becomes a big memory hog - to the point where typing in the address bar is a 5-second delay.

Anyone else having this?

Some observations from yesterday:

A lot of hypocrisy here. After seeing a lot of justified criticism to Apple and Tim Cook this year, I saw it disappear due to an orange iPhone and a series of overexcited posts.

The improved hardware means almost nothing, as it's going to be used on software that's nowhere near ready.

The iPhone Air is not called the iPhone 17 Air. There's also an iPhone 16e. The lineup is now as confused as the iPad has been for years.

Apple is seemingly honoring T*ump even more by bringing out an Orange iPhone later today.

Get ready for the Truth Social post.

I’d add to @gruber’s good piece here, that the fact Apple Intelligence *turns itself back on* with every new software update is a terrible look in every sense.
