My calves are super not happy with me today after all of the landscaping and digging work I did yesterday to plant two trees.
SUPER NOT HAPPY, they'd like me to know.

Spent a chunk of the day getting the last of the lava rocks out of a front garden bed. Made my first ever homemade Alfredo sauce for some leftover noodles I had (and hope my body copes well with all that dairy). Then played some Jenga, Dixit, and Mario Kart with two of the kids. I still did my yoga, too.

But I'm tired.

Easy to pull out and plop on a pan to put in the oven whenever for fresh-baked cookies.

Earlier me:
Let’s bake 8 cookies. Four for today and four for tomorrow.

Current me:
Tomorrow me can bake more.

My kids started piano lessons last week.
As someone who did music from the time I was 6, I'm excited.

But.

It turns out that one of them cannot tell when they are or are not hitting a note with the beat of the metronome. And I just do not understand. Rhythm always came naturally to me.

So is this something people learn with practice?
Right now the tapping of keys completely out of step with the metronome beat is about to drive this dad bonkers.

You did that over on the other site to avoid the dogpiling based on searches of words. But there is no full-text search here, so it's not an issue.

What is does impact is those who have put up filters on specific words or phrases. So if you say Frump instead of the former president of the US, that filter won't work. Or if you say Melon instead of a certain CEO, same issue.

Just use the word. Thx.

My wife is getting a well deserved massage. My kids have taken themselves to the neighborhood park. I'm out in the yard removing more lava rocks from the front garden bed.

Imma need spring and pollen season to take a look at that calendar.

We need to retreat inward to recover so we can do a very select, chosen few of those things.
