    @lanodan no, it goes to whatever you set up as your default search engine. and if Google is not your default search engine then it does to the selected search. search engines are many. and you can set default params to pass to a search engine to use them by default,

    @wthinker it's worse than unnecessary: it was purposedly used to hide public information from users so that they cannot access post ID without JS and controlled access that can be traced and whatever.
    and all this bullshit happened while the previous versions of Mastodon worked just fine without any JS and did not hide any information.

    @shura @wthinker I don't have Mastodon accounts. the only way I can explore posts of arbitrary Mastodon users is its web interface. and they ruined it completely.
    the most weird thing is that heavy JS web interface will kill the servers with thousands of users. and Mastodon got many newcomers. so this was contra-productive and absolutely wrong decision.

    I just discovered they ruined Mastodon in the last version update much worse than I estimated.

    I was unpleasantly surprised they made that stupid "endless scrolling" which is the worst bullshit in web ever. and it does not work without JS anymore. which is a crime, for sure. but that's not all, as it turned out.

    it turned out that now one cannot just copy the post link on Mastodon to share it, as it always was in all Fediverse platforms. they have faked post ids in their web interface and to find a real AP id for sharing a post one has to clickbait on their JS bullshit. and this is totally fucked up strategy of centralized social networks to spy on users. they got contracted the birdside infection.

    some years ago I considered Mastodon as just another AP realization and I didn't mind it in any way. now I changed my mind. I see how they fall into the depths of commercial anti-user technologies targeted for marketing, spying on users and so on. and this is something utterly wrong. I see the first steps to the abyss and I don't think they're just a mistake. it is a conscious choice they made.

    I have a tremendous experience in software and open source development and use and I can see such shit early enough to warn people around me. I leave this post here, I know publics will disagree, but they will see the results later. I was always right in such predicts.

    @nixCraft I do. though, I preferred C then, already. I hated °begin-end' thing, found it really weird to count iterators from 1 and didn't like awkward work with pointers in Pascal. so since I was about 12, I switched to C and still write in C.

    @ninesigns @mint это никак не связано с хостером. хостер просто предоставляет хостинг. товарищ майор точно так же может поднять сервер и там. это раз. второе: клиент находится в рашке (это видно по адресу) и у него может быть говно в маршрутизации. и говно в маршрутизации в стопицот раз чаще случается в Эрефии (и я это видела много раз, много лет), а не у хостеров, которым до этих сраных серверов вообще как до лампочки. у них таких серверов миллионы.

    сертификаты - это домен, а не сервер. домен. домен! не дошло? у этих граждан домен в зоне ру - вот вам и ответ.
    а людей предупреждали: не надо в рашке держать домены. потому что с ними может произойти всякая фигня. но баллон почему-то катить стали на немцев, хотя немцы к сертификатам никаким боком вообще. для выпуска левого сертификата нужен доступ к доменной записи. и всё обсуждение на этом заканчивается, как и конспирологические теории про "сговор в датацентрах".
    так что полицая на картинке замените на товарища майора и пусть админы сами посыпают себе голову пеплом, не втягивая в это приличные хостинги.

    I'm a professional C/C++ programmer, I use Linux and deal mainly with system programming, back-ends, networks, high-load data processing. I fond of music, play all kinds of basses, cello, learn to play tenor-sax and take lessons of academic vocals (wide ranged big voice). I've got reptile pets. I fluently speak Russian and English, learn Italian and know some other languages a little.
