    @alex Tracked it down, had to break out react dev tools and your tests to figure it out. It's expecting registrations=true from /api/v1/instance, guessing it's not bothering with openRegistrations from nodeinfo?

    @aevisia @alex we usually don't bother with hashtags. Go with a maximum of zero, I'm not kidding, they aren't useful in content and community search.

    You'll find your people by interacting. Start off with your instances local feed, chase profiles and links, and the whole fediverse filter too, for a faster paced feed of people who will still talk to us ?

    Once again, @alex does not hate trannies, and is not a nazi (as the NSDAP no longer exists). I don't know or care about his politics, but Alex Gleason doesn't look like the type who would agree with my political and religious leanings (as he is an atheist, IIRC).

    But Alex Gleason is vegan. Painfully so. And he certainly has my respect as a developer in this space.

    All of this shit should have been upstreamed by Pleroma, and then some, but their politics are getting in the way. It's time to put it down, and start your own backend.

    @alex Them's the breaks. Just gotta pick one and run with it.

    My project's using Tokio/Actix/MongoDB, which is one of two sets of async/webserver frameworks they have available for Rust, and MongoDB because I think it's a better database system for a use case like federated microblogging.

    We could really use some good uninfested software, Alex. If you've got the capacity - especially if you can get paid for it - to write an entirely new backend to replace Pleroma, instead of trying to get Pleroma to straighten up and act right, I'd say go for it.

    Yeah, we switched to Akkoma quite some time ago. It's done decently well, but I'm still not wholly satisfied with its performance.

    Pleroma in its entirety's pissed me off so much, that I'm slowly writing my own damn backend, with hookers and blow. I thought about forking mitra, but I'd rather do it my way, and exercise my Rust capabilities at the same time.

    That, and I get to make my own backend's license MIT+NIGGER, which is pretty funny to me.

    Rust, yes, tranny software too. :(
