A lot on my plate today, but it's another chance to succeed.

In addition to my normal tasks of write a little, read a little, and get a bit of exercise, I'm getting serious about shifting my computers to all #Linux all the time.

This challenge falls under "mind" for my juggling and I've been picking away at it for a few days.

I've had way too much fun with it.

It's down to the last test ?

Good morning! It's another chance to succeed.

I'm slowly building back my strength and stamina as I juggle mind, body, and spirit.

I've started a side-quest to move all of my computer work to #Linux - mostly as a mental challenge but I've grown tired of commercial operating systems calling the shots on my own equipment.

But first I need to get my writing done, my exercise behind me, and take a few minutes to be in the moment.

Early morning wake up means some extra time to enjoy #today.

I need to do some laundry today, in addition to write a little, read a little, and play a little.

It's all part of my year long effort to juggle mind, body, and spirit.

Being the weekend doesn't make a lot of difference here. The task list doesn't change except in the details.

Today I'll write a little, read a little, exercise a bit, and try to be more mindful about what I'm doing and when I do it.

Basically juggle mind, body, and spirit - same as yesterday.

Icy morning #today and a late start. There's still plenty of time to juggle mind, body, and spirit.

I just need to focus on the tasks in front of me.

Sure, they're the same tasks as yesterday but these are today's version.

Another day. Another chance to succeed.

I'm going to do the same thing #today that I did yesterday.

I'll write a little - but different words from yesterday. I'll play a little. I'll exercise a bit. I'll work on mindfulness.

The activities may vary but the goal remains the same.

A minor medical hiccup this afternoon. Routine checkups are a fact of life these days. They happen regularly - just to test my will, I think ?

Still, I need to write a little, read a little, and do a bit of exercise to keep the streak alive.

Slept in #today

Too many short nights caught up with me.

But it's still another chance to succeed.

Plenty of time to juggle mind, body, and spirit. Plenty of time to write a little, read a little, and exercise a little.

Time to make some donuts!

When I graduated from high school at 17, I enlisted in the Coast Guard to avoid being drafted and sent to Viet Nam.

I couldn't know what my draft lottery number would be until after I got out of boot camp - and I really didn't want to go to boot camp.

I figured I could survive boot camp. The odds in SE Asia were a lot worse.

I was right. My number would have been 12.

Overall, I think I've been lucky.

One more chance to succeed #today.

My list of tasks doesn't have a lot of extra things on it today so I'm going make an extra effort on those few that are most important as I juggle mind, body, spirit.

I won't say it's getting easier as the year unfolds, but it's becoming more satisfying.

Let's do this.

For years social media has used interaction as a proxy for engagement and engagement as a proxy for influence, conflating the terms until they become used interchangeably.

The reason is that it's easy to count interaction, less easy to count engagement, and almost impossible to get a metric on influence.

There's even a joke about it.

A man comes out of the bar one night and finds his friend on his hands and knees, scrambling about on the sidewalk.

"Be careful!" the man says. "I lost a contact lens."

So they look and look. After half an hour, the first guy asks, " You sure you lost it here?"

"Oh, no. I lost it in the alley but the light's better here."

Moral: It's hard to get the results you want when you don't do the thing that matters.

It's one of those weird mass media tools that got transplanted to social media without understanding it.

"Clout" and "reach" are "influence level" and "influence scope."

Both relate to the actual characteristic of "social presence."

The difficulty comes when the influence you're trying to measure happens outside of social channels.

Another day, another chance to succeed.

#Today I need to do some triage on a book that might need a complete re-write. First, I have to figure out what I was thinking when I wrote it - and whether I even want to tell that story at all.

Today's juggling of mind, body, spirit will have some challenges. ?

Looks like today gets off on the left foot.

Doesn't matter. I'll adjust my schedule to accommodate doing things in a different order.

I'll juggle mind, body, spirit instead.

Still need to write a little, edit a little, exercise some, and play.

Write a little, read a little, play a little, and take a walk outside (weather permitting).

Hey! I woke up again this morning!

Seems like a good start for another chance at success.

Plans? Same thing as yesterday.

Play a little.

It worked out all right yesterday. I'm making good progress on my long term projects by chipping away at them day after day.
